Support Files View (Basic MSI and Web Projects)

InstallShield 12

The Support Files view contains items under which you can add support files to your project, and add files to disk image folders. See Using Support Files to learn how to add files in this view.

The Support Files view contains the following main items:

Support File

Lets you add, sort, and delete support files—files that are required by your installation project only during the installation process.

Any additional languages in your installation appear under the English (United States) item. Add language-specific support files to the appropriate language items.

Splash Screen

Place your startup graphic (the graphic displayed at the same time as the startup dialog) in the appropriate language folder. You can add a bitmap (.bmp) to be displayed when the end user begins the installation. Only one file is displayed. If you add multiple files to this item, only the first file in the list is displayed.

Note

Disk1

The Disk1 item enables you to indicate files and folders that you want to go on Disk1 of your installation media. These files and folders are not automatically installed to the target system when your installation is run. Rather, you can link to the installation media from your application or from the installation. For example, you might include a large redistributable file with your application that you do not want included in the application installation. This file should be placed in the Disk1 folder.
